Secondly, that is one seriously shiny shirt. Can you see your reflection in it?

I think his shirt was originally designed by NASA to a thermal blanket. It helps retain heat on Everest and it's handy dandy reflective signal beacon that can easily be seen by passing rescue helicopters.
